One of the best kept and most exclusive Dining Experiences in the Netherlands

What is it?

Vuurtoreneiland, the tiny lighthouse island just outside Amsterdam. Only accessible by boat and by reservations made months in advance. It is known for its unique culinair experience where no electricity or running water is used. The kitchen works exclusively with local ingredients prepared over an open fire and in a wood-burning oven.

HOP is securing tickets for the voyage and dinner on Sunday 7 September 2025 for an unforgettable day together for an exclusive group on Vuurtoreneiland, Your ticket includes the ferry, a seasonal five‑course dinner in the island’s glass‑walled Summer Restaurant, snacks on board, a sweet treat for the ride home, and the island monument fee—all for €120 per person. Wine pairing and kombucha are additional and optional but will be paid on the ferry back from the dinner.

The day runs like clockwork: boarding at 15:15 in Amsterdam (Oostelijke Handelskade 34), ferry departure at 15:30 sharp, dinner from 16:45 to 19:30, and a return to Amsterdam at 20:45. Seats open exactly three months in advance and are gone within a minute. Tickets become non‑refundable once the group booking is paid, but you may be able to transfer your place until 30 August.

Dietary & Accessibility Notes

In case of dietary requirements or allergies, the restaurant tries to offer a suitable alternative. The menu emphasizes vegetables but does include animal products. For specific dietary needs, such as gluten allergy or veganism, it is not always possible to offer a quality alternative. In case of special dietary requirements, such as allergy to commonly used products like onion or garlic, please mention this when booking. Due to the mixed use of the kitchen, there are always (traces of) gluten, in case of celiac disease we unfortunately cannot offer a 100% gluten-free menu.

Natural‑leaning wines rest in the walk‑in cellar; non‑drinkers can indulge in house‑fermented juices, kefirs and kombuchas.
